My Nail Polish Collection

I should call the title of this post, "my dwindling nail polish collection".  I have made a decision recently that it is far better for me to have money in the bank than have an amazing nail polish collection.  Isn't it sad when you have to be an adult and make choices like this?
I can't complain however, because there are many people out there that would think that owning 10 polishes is enough.  I did an inventory last night at 3am (don't ask me why I was up that late) and I am now down to 124 polishes.  In reality, that's still a lot of nail polishes, but considering a month ago I had 185ish, this is really scary for me for some reason lol.

So now...all my polishes fit in one drawer.  So this post is about two things.  First, it's to show you my nail polish storage.  Which really is just a drawer lol. And second, it is to show you my nail polish collection.

Some of my friends reading this will be either think one of the following:
1. Why on earth would Sue sell her polishes?
2. Why on earth does Sue have so many polishes?

Either way, I'm happy with this decision I made.  I'm learning how to be a rational consumer than a hoarder (no offense, I'm not calling people with a large beauty collection a hoarder, I've just felt that I was in this really bad cycle of hoarding), and overall I'm learning day by day how to appreciate, enjoy and actually use what I have.

So here is my collection all in my drawer.  It is grouped by brand.  I wouldn't really recommend this type of storage, because it's really hard to see what you actually have.  But it is really expensive to have a wall unit, especially if you have hundreds of polishes.

My October Swaps Reveal

I won't be swapping anymore this month, so I am revealing this month's swaps a little earlier.
This month has been slow, because the postage cost was starting to really start to add up.

But I'm super excited about my October swaps!

This month, I got:

Dior - Eye shadow brush
This is one of the two brushes from Dior that I recently swapped for.  I was eager to swap for these, not because I didn't have any brushes, but because this will complete my Dior brush set :) What I don't like about these brushes is that the logo rubs off, but then again I believe they all do. The brush is pretty densely packed, so it picks up colour well and doesn't have too much all out.

Dior - Lip brush
This retractable lip brush is very handy for sure.  I like that it is retractable, because the worst thing is to have a lip brush and then have to deal with the residue lipstick on the brush, especially if you want to keep it in your purse/makeup bag.

Fresh - Creme Ancienne face cream (deluxe sample)
Lightly scented and very soothing.
I love how this feels on my face right now, especially with the weather getting colder and dryer.

Illamasqua - Stagnate nail polish
This is a lovely formula, like all other Illamasqua nail polishes
If you like greyed out mauves, then this is for you!

Garnier BB Cream in Medium
This is probably my most excited swap of this month.
I didn't want to spend a tenner to try this haha, but it is so worth that and more.
This BB Cream is a lot more dewy and definitely more moisturizing than the other BB Creams that I have tried.  There isn't much coverage, but it is by far the most light reflecting and doesn't make your face look super pale either.

My YSL Inspired Nail Art

YSL has recently gotten a lot of press for their Black Collection.  I have loved YSL polish for a long time because of their beautiful tall rectangular bottles and golden logo cap.

So this is my inspired manicure today.
(Sorry Kitty! The holo madness will have to wait haha)

From ysl

I am really tempted on using my advantage points for one of the YSL black collection polishes.
Gorgeous and Elegant!

What's your favourite YSL polish?

Freebie Alert - Estee lauder Foundation sample

I've never tried Estee Lauder, I guess I will now :)

No Miss Nail Polish in Seaside Sapphire

I have a friend who really is into her organic, vegan type of natural cosmetic brands.  She was kind enough to give me several colours from this company, but my favourite by far is Seaside Sapphire.

The colour is a lot more vibrant purple in real life.
I liked the formula a lot, but it took a while to dry.

Illamasqua Stagnate

I was up until 4am last night watching episode after episode of The office season 4.  I'm highly addicted right now! So today was a late start :::stretches::: :)
GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!! or should I say GOOD AFTERNOON lovelies!

Last night I put on Illamasqua Stagnate, and decided to wait until this morning to take photos, well.....considering that I'm always doing something with my hands, I'm already getting tipwear. Yikes! Very unlike Illamasqua.  I blame it on the constant typing that I have to do.

I recently swapped for this, and I realise that I have so many polishes in this type of shade. I would say that I have an exact dupe, but China Glaze's Below Deck seems awfully close to me.
This is the perfect polish for a gloomy and wet morning. Ahhhhhh England, this is how I remember you!

Add caption

I don't know how I feel about this colour anymore.  I love colours that are a bit murky and greyed out, but I think I loved this colour so much that I went a little overboard.  I'm looking at my drawer and I have too many similar shades of this haha!
Going to have to make a tough decision on which ones to let go of, hmmm....

Anyways, I had an awful nightmare last night that I'm still trying to shake, and I'm going to be proactive in making this day a good day!

So I hope you all have a wonderful day too!! :)

Soap & Glory Face Soap and Clarity 3-In-1 Daily-Detox Vitamin C Facial Wash

This is my first Soap & Glory product that I have ever used.  I know that in the states, Target sells Soap & Glory, but I never tried it.  Well, moving to England has opened me up to many different brands.  I got this in a swap, and I've been using it for the last couple of months.  The message on the tube is hilarious.  I really like companies that plaster their packaging with humour, especially witty humour.
During the last couple of months, I will have to say that my break outs have not been any worse than before, so this product didn't increase my breakouts, nor did it help my breakouts either.

Here are my pros and cons:

PROS:
* Clean scented
* Smooth gel like texture
* Squeaky clean feeling
* Affordable and easily accessible
* Lasted a very long time

CONS:
* The micro beads were sparse
* Dried my face out more than normal (although I'm not sure if it's the cleanser or the water here)

Would I re-purchase this?
As much as I liked it, I probably would not repurchase it.  There are so many other cleansers that I wanted to try.

So this is my experience with the face cleanser.  You can purchase this Asos, Boots, and various places online.

Halloween with Becca

Dear Santa

There are many reasons for blogging, but none matter if you don't actually blog.  I've been so scatter brain lately. What have I been up too? I've been working on my business, selling things to bring some extra income in, and trying to be more physically active and spend more time with my neglected husband too. ha! I'm just all over the place, so I'm so sorry that my blogging hasn't been consistent.  I'm actually starting to cut out some extra side things in order to be able to focus back to my blog again.  So no more lame excuses, I just need to get organized and actually make some sort of schedule of what I'm going to post.  Note to self: get organized!

The one thing that I have been doing however is thinking of what I want for Christmas.
Does anyone start as early as me? :)

So my wishlist is small and simple. Trying to simplify my life, can you tell?

75 FOLLOWER BLOG GIVEAWAY WINNER

I wanted to say a huge thank you to Incoco for sponsoring this blog giveaway!
Also, and the most obvious...a huge thank you to all the people who have entered the blog giveaway.

I am very pleased to announce the winner as I think this lovely gal is very deserving of winning, and she's just mega awesome.

So the lucky winner is....

CONGRATULATIONS BRAINWIGGLES!!!!!!

Thank you all again!

***Edit****
I actually made a mistake in calculating the winner of this blog giveaway. It was definitely unintentional, and it wasn't until someone left a comment that I realised that I didn't factor in all the different ways that people entered.  I was working on so many different things at once, that I definitely miscalculated. Unfortunately, Incoco has already shipped off the package to the winner listed above.  I can only say that I am very sorry about my error; however, I don't appreciate comments stating that it was intentional.  It's not "funny" that I know the person who is listed above, because I know 80% of the people that entered this blog giveaway very well.  I am going to recalculate the entries again (correctly this time) and e-mail the new winner tonight.  Once again, I am sorry! No one is perfect and people make mistakes. I'm not above admitting my error, but if you have an issue with me, try to send me an email and not an anonymous comment.

MeMeMe Nail Polish in Molten

Happy Sunday everyone.  Today is the last day to enter my blog giveaway, so don't miss out. Incoco is giving away a grab bag full of their products! What better time then now, especially with all these holidays coming up.

So I woke up today, ready to bid on an ebay auction, only to get beat out by in the last 3 seconds! I hate when that happens. I'm over here throwing a tantrum!!! Oh well, that's how the cookie crumbles....sigh...anyways..... My house is filled with the aroma of the traditional british roast...yummm :)  I am really excited to eat later haha, starving and since my goal is to lose some weight by Christmas, this is going to set me back a few calories.  Heck, who am I kidding? I'm going to have to go on an extra long walk tonight haha.

This poor little MeMeMe polish has been neglected, and I made it my mission to make sure I tried it this weekend.  Molten is an interested polish. There is definitely a color struggle.  Is it silver frost? Is it khaki green? Hmmm....sometimes it looks too silver for me, and other times it's just perfect khaki/army green.  In the sun, there are tiny tiny micro red and bright green shimmer/glitter flecks.  I did like that, but at a normal distance, the polish looks a greyed out green.  Slightly too frosty for my liking, but that's just me being super picky.

I was going through my nail polish drawer last night, and I realised that I am running very low (scary low) of my favourite Seche Vite and Poshe fast drying top coats. ECK! Got to get some more STAT!!
So with Christmas coming up, what is everyone lemming for?
For once, I will not be buying myself polish for Christmas, but instead I'm saving up to buy myself a Chanel mirror.  What about you guys?

Verity Nail Lacquer in G11 Celebrity

I needed a pick me up this morning.  It's amazing how many different forms that haters come in, but oh well...I'm going to be me and stay me.
So what better way to lighten up the mood then to slather on layers and layers of glitter?
But not just any glitter....holo large hexagram glitter. BAM! did the job!

I'm new to this brand and thanks to a friend in the states, I was able to try this polish.  I'm not going to go into formula or anything like that, because this is just one STUNNER of a polish.

The holographic glitters are plentiful in this polish.

4 layers on each finger, next time I'll use a different base, but your nails will get noticed with this polish on.

This is a keeper!

Something of this polish and the name of it reminds me of a night out on the town, and for some odd reason, it reminds me of this tune. lol.  Something blingtastic about the polish goes with this type of tune.

It goes with the tune doesn't it?
Anyways...
Happy Saturday everyone. I'll be doing ebaying, cleaning, blogging this weekend - no work..absolutely none!

Enjoy your time off, and don't forget to enter my blog giveaway as it ends tomorrow.

I just wanted to update you on what's to come in the next few days and before the end of this month.

A Merry Day With OPI's Merry Midnight

I tried going to bed last night at 10:30.  I ended up laying in bed and watching shows on my iphone until like 4am hA! So much for early night sleep and early rise.

I heard some really annoying news about what some people were doing on a forum I belong too this morning.  I let it dampen my mood, but after talking to a very wise wise lady, I realise how petty and how insignificant that was to let it dampen my mood.
It just reminds me about how glad I am for those that I have built a friendship with now (You ladies know who you are).
Anyways, so my day has brightened up.  DH is feeling better, and it's not too cold.  Oscar is running around barking at people through the window as usual, and I decided to put on one of my most precious polishes in my collection.

Such a gorgeous and busy polish

I layered it over one coat of OPI Black Cherry Chutney

And since apparently I wanted more flakies, my right hand as a layer of Nubar 2010 and WOW
talk about Flakie Explosion (as my friend called it).

Now this brings a smile to the inner polish addict in me.
Happy Thursday!

Marc Jacobs Platform Wedge Boot

Marc Jacobs does it again ...

Now to find my money tree.
Retail: $695

ALERT Free Lipstick or Mascara at Boots

Just a quickie...
If you take your advantage card and run it in the kiosk machine, there is a £2 off any lipstick/mascara at Boots. Hurry, because I heard some are getting it and some aren't.  Natural Collection's lipsticks and mascaras are only £1.99, so it works out free.  I picked up a lipstick for my Mother in Law, and there were no issues.  You should also get a double points voucher in the mail, and these all stack.

Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in 84 Epatant Review

When something comes out that is limited edition, I always feel the need to review it quickly and get it up on my blog.  But luckily (to my delight) these cream eye shadows by Chanel are NOT limited edition. YAY! They are now part of the Chanel collection, and I felt the ease of actually trying the product for a long time and giving it a proper review.

I got this recently from my friend in the states, and I've been using it quite a bit.  Epatant is a chrome like khaki colour.  Lots of frost, but not in a bad 90's type of way.  It is sophisticated.  I never thought I'd call an eye shadow color sophisticated but here I am doing so.

The cream eyeshadow is like no other.  I have nothing but the utmost admiration for the formula.  Soft, flexible, can be worn for a light look or piled on for a dark evening look.  Very versatile!

It does not crease, and honestly I never get complimented on my eyeshadow, but I've had girl that work the beauty counters ask me what I'm wearing.
It's a proper piece to own.
I usually wouldn't tell people to run out and drop £22.50 on a single colour, but if you have the funds, run now and grab these from Chanel.

Next one I'm going to purchase is Emerville.
Can't wait! Probably as a Christmas treat to myself.

Do you own these? How do you like it?

Deborah Lippmann's Glitter Polishes

If you asked me a year ago.."what is your favourite types of nail polish?", I would have answered chunky glitters like Deborah Lippmann.  Within the last year, I really stayed away from glitter, and have fallen in love with the nail polish rejects that I call 'ugly colors".  We're talking muddy greens, khaki army colours, greyed out versions of the rainbow, anything where most people would say it looked "ugly".  So today after I swatched the China Glaze, I noticed something sparkling in my nail polish drawer and pulled out a Deborah Lippmann polish.  I'm such a child! I started to skittle my nails just for the hell of it, and I have to give credit where credit is due.  Deborah Lippmann truly makes some of the most fun glitters out there.

Here is my skittling just for the heck of it...

You guys know my camera hates glitter, but even with my sh**ty pic, you can just see the fun on my nails.  Starting from the thumb, you have:
Today was a Fairytale
Boom Boom Pow
Razzle Dazzle
Superstar
Lady that Sings the Blues

(all swatched over China Glaze's rodeo fanatic)

Her formula is gloopy, and does separate, so you have to be patient with them, but the pay off is like no other.   I can see why I was so into glitter a year ago.

I'm not really a fan of her music, nor her constant reference to pop culture, BUT
the nail polish is great.  If you are in the states, you lucky devils pay only $18-$20.  We here in the UK have to shell out £18 at House of Fraser.

If you love glitter, treat yourself...it's almost Christmas :)

NOTD China Glaze Nail Polish in Rodeo Fanatic

Good morning ladies! Hope you're all doing well!
I need to get my a$$ in gear and start using the amazing polishes that were gifted to me recently.
I have a duo-chromatic nail polish for you today.
China Glaze Rodeo Fanatic is a turquoise/teal and purple duochrome polish.  I've been reading that some felt the duochrome is lost once applied to the nails, and that is slightly true.  The purple is very faint in this polish next to the strong dark turquoise meets teal colour.  But if you love blurple, this is a must have.

I never thought I was superstitious or even religious, but when I flipped the bottle over to see that the number to his polish was 666, I sort of cringed HAHA!
I don't like that at all for some reason, and since I'm not really a fan of blurples, I think this one will be going to a new home.
But the quality, application, formula is what you would expect out of China Glaze...superb!

Love? Hate?
Let me know if you love "blurples".

Who doesn't love free stuff?

I wanted to write this post, because I wanted to share with you all how I obtain my free samples (deluxe samples too).

In the last month, I have scoured the internet and freebie websites, and have signed up for tons of free samples.  They actually work! I have gotten tons of skincare and perfume samples (along with other samples like coffee, tea, etc. etc.).  So if you are interested and don't mind giving out your address, check out these websites.

Sign up for their daily emails.
Totally legit, no funny business.  They just link you to the company's website or Facebook page, and you choose whether you want to sign up to get a freebie or not.

For instance, today I got the new Molton Brown Rogard perfume sample, and Good Things Miracle Mattifier Moisturiser for FREE.

I seriously get a free sample in the mail everyday now, and I haven't shelled out a penny.

So if you love samples like me, check those sites out!

Matte is Back - Chanel Pirate Matte dupe

Being the leader in fashion and a big factor in nail polish fads, Chanel is now campaigning for the return of the matte.  I think matte was a huge look back in 2008 and earlier, and has died down a little bit in recent years.  But with the new collection, Chanel has released a matte topcoat to accompany Pirate, Rose Exuberant, and Rose cache.

I never stopped liking matte.  It's a look that people either love love love or hate.  So I was very happy to see that Chanel came out with the matte topcoat.

It's not in my budget lately to spend money on the Chanel matte, but I'm still going to bust out my Essie version to show you the look I made today.

If you have any blue red/true hollywood red polish, then this look can be yours too.

I used my Mavala Elle Red polish.
Ok rant time - I hate this polish.  I understand it was free with the magazine and that prevents me from being too disgruntled with it, but considering Mavala charges £4+ for a tiny tiny bottle, I really expected more.  The colour bled like no other, and it just didn't apply smoothly.  I just wasn't overly impressed, and this will deter me from purchasing future Mavala polishes.
But for this exercise, it will have to do :)

I'm really loving the red matte look right now!

This manicure took me longer than any other manicure before.
Yeah this one is definitely going to a new home lol

Now how awesome is the matte over the blood red?
Love it!

Sure it's not Chanel, but
nobody will know...it's our little secret :)

OPI Bring on the Bling Dupe - Funky Fingers Golden Coast

I was finally able to remember to get a decent comparison shot of these two polishes.
OPI Bring on the Bling is a little hard to find, and when you find it, you end up paying a little over retail for it, so of course when I saw that Funky Fingers was a dupe, I just had to share it with you all.

Sure, the funky fingers is a bit gritty and bumpy, but if you can deal with that, then you can save some money buying the funky fingers version.
Then you can buy another polish with the money you saved :)

NOTD - Illamasqua Nail Polish in Kink

Illamasqua is one of those companies that either speak to you or don't.  They are unforgiving in their boldness, and not shy to go to the extreme.  For all those reasons and for a very well thought out artistic bases for their collections, Illamasqua has pushed up to the my top 5 brands.

When the rubber textured collection released, I had to grab one of them.  It was very hard to pick, but I decided to pick Kink, and I'm very happy I did.

The texture is fun, and mimics latex.
I'm not into latex in my personal life (HAHA!), but I do like this risky erotic influenced nail polish. It's either you love this or hate it, and I really love it!

Glamour & Chanel Event

Unlucky for me, I won't be back to London for this event, but if you are there, check out the Chanel Event hosted by Glamour.

GLAMOUR has teamed up with Chanel to offer readers an exclusive chance to get the catwalk look. On Wednesday October 19th, Chanel make-up artist Florrie White and manicurist Marian Newman will be at Selfridges, London, to teach you all the secrets. Each reader will get an hour's tutorial on nails, make-up and fragrance (for the full Chanel experience), and you'll not only leave with some on-trend tips, but also a great Chanel goody bag.

To reserve a spot, call the Chanel Make-Up Studio on 020 7318 2372. The £30 booking fee is redeemable against purchase. You'll need to be quick though, as it's first come first served.

Nails Inc Gossip Girls Collection

There is a first for everything.  I cringed a bit when I had to write Gossip Girls on the title bar. Forgive me, as I am not a fan of this show, but...I gotta give credit where credit is due.  These duos are hot! Talk about flakie alert!  There are 3 sets named after 3 characters. Each set is £20, and you get the base colour, and the flakie topcoat.  I'm a flakie lover so obviously I had to blog about this collection.

Head over to www.nailsinc.com
to purchase these.

Nails Inc is on fire!
With this collection, and the magnetic collection, Nails Inc is one top of their game for sure.

What do you all think of these????

A London Story

I am so sorry that I have been away.  Life just got so busy all of a sudden, and next thing I know I haven't blogged in almost 2 days.  That's really the longest and it won't ever happen again (or at least I hope not) :).  So I have another long post full of reveals, and just chitter chatter...

So last minute I hopped on the train to head to London for work and some play.  I absolutely enjoyed my short 1.5 days in that fabulous city.  Got to get my a$$ closer there in the future (god willing on how my business goes).  So not only was it really educational, but it was loads of fun.
Here's the nails that I rocked while I was there:
Chanel Graphite with Chanel black velvet on the ring fingers topped off with Rococo's Gold Leaf. Rococo (as stunning as it is) was a very difficult polish to use.  The clear polish is so thick that the Gold Leaf pieces just seem to slide off.  It took a long time to get 2 fingers done.  The overall effect is gorgeous, and I'm so blessed to have been given this polish, but it takes a skilled and patient type of person to use this polish.

Here's me on the train.
I pushed my way to get a great seat with a table.
Meet my Louis Vuitton damier musette tango.
This bag is so handy when I need to be hands free.

So my friend that I met up with is a such a fantastic person.
It's rare to meet people like this.
So well rounded, decent, down to earth and just someone that I look up!
So when she started busting out her awesome goodies, I just had to snap up pictures.

I mean look at this?
WHAT?! A highly limited edition Chanel piece.

You can mix and the pigments to be used for lips, cheeks, eyes...
It is a beauty addicts dream come true.
I joked with her about how I was going to steal this from her :p

Then she knocked me off my feet, when she showed me her Vintage Chanel earrings!
Just look at the craftsmanship on this baby.  Such a stunner!

Then she decided to be even more awesome by giving me this!!!
An entire Nails Inc nail care set!!!!

Talk about a welcome present!
I guess my love for nail polish is THAT obvious haha!

We had a good pow wow, and a fun trip down to Oxford Street.  I didn't splurge, and just bought something that I felt was a necessity.  Selfridges is just a beautiful place for any beauty addict. The building, the lighting, the merchandise is just beyond anything that I have ever seen.  Nothing in the states comes close, not even the best of the best of the Neiman Marcus or Saks.  Selfridges really knows how present products, and really just create an amazing beauty hall like no other!

I have been wanting the Suqqu eyebrow pen forever.  It had to be mine! and now it is.  I immediately used it while I was there, and I will now retire my Dior eyebrow pen.  I will never cheat on Suqqu with anyone...it is just THAT good.

I know, I know, just one product seems like such a restraint for someone like me, but times are tough, so I did treat myself to just this one thing.  I am very proud of myself.

So only 4 hours of sleep and many hours on the go, I have been exhausted, but not exhausted enough to rip open my packages when I arrived.  Here are my new goodies.

Actually, before I show this...I do want to mention something.  I know that I have been revealing a lot of gifts from people over the last few posts.  I do this for many reasons.  First, because I'm so excited to have these items, and I thought I could share that enthusiasm with my readers.  Second, because it is my way of thanking my friend(s) for giving them to me.  Yet, my intentions have been misunderstood by someone out there in cyber land.  I got a comment that I had to reject recently that stated "Stop showing off".  Trust me, it's not showing off.  In fact, compared to many bloggers, my shopping habits is very very modest and minimal.  When I blog reveals it is merely to show how grateful I am of the generosity that has been bestowed upon me.  However...I'm not writing this rebuttal to say that I don't listen to my readers.  I understand that in today's tough economy, showing a huge package of products given to me can make someone jealous or even bitter.  So out of courtesy and true respect for my readers, I will no longer be doing reveals of gifts.  I will just continue doing reviews of products.

Ok sorry about that huge tangent!
Now onto some new products that were waiting for me today.
First bunch came from a makeupalley swap recently.

Christian Dior retractable lipbrush and
Fresh Creme Ancienne sample

I already tried the sample, and it feels so nice on my skin.
The Dior brush is very handy, and you get a lot of brush for fast and even coverage.

Next are two items that I have been really wanting to try for a long time!
Guerlain's Jasminora mini perfume, and
Illamasqua Kink.

Isn't that bottle just beautiful?
I love the fragrance, and I believe I am going to purchase a full size bottle sometime in the future.

Watch out for the NOTD of the Illamasqua Kink tomorrow!

How is everyone spending their fall?
