Louis Vuitton Fragrance Launch

According to WWD, Louis Vuitton is currently developing their first fragrance since the 20's. This is exciting news for Louis Vuitton addicts connoisseurs.  The power fashion house has hired Jacques Cavallier-Belletrude from France.  He is best known for his creation of  L’Eau d’Issey, Jean Paul Gaultier Classic, Dior Addict, Poeme by Lancome, Stella by Stella McCartney and Cinema by Yves Saint Laurent.

It wasn't that long ago that I was saving up my pennies each season to acquire another Louis Vuitton piece.  Although my finances currently don't allow me to do that as frequently as I use too, I have a feeling that I will be saving my pennies for this fragrance.  I have high expectations, and any less than a complex, multi-layered, and elegant fragrance from LV would be disappointing.

Who else is excited for this?

Last Night's Accessories: Topshop, Models Own, Gosh, Louis Vuitton

Last night, I met up with a forum friend for dinner and movies.  It's so nice to see a friendship blossom from seeing them on a public forum, to an email, to a day out shopping, and then to a friendship.  We saw "The Woman in Black".  If you are a Hammer horror fan, you may be pleased at the modern Hammer film.  There was a good 15 seconds, where I froze in fear.  It was great!  :)  So last night, this is what I rocked.  Sorry I don't have an OOTD, but here are my accessories.

I was still rocking my sponge nails, these are the polishes that I used:  Models Own Aciid and Gosh Lavender Love.

Models Own £5 - Gosh £4.99

I took another photo of this manicure, as my other post had an Instagram version.  Then, I pulled out a small bag, which is quite rare for me. I'm always using big bags, but for some reason, I wanted to pull this bag out.  This is the original Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse graffiti pochette, circa 2001.  This bag has a lovely story behind it, and I will always remember the kind lady that gave this bag to me, and I will never forget her :).

I also wore a new pair of earrings that I picked up at Topshop. It was a total impulse buy, but it looked fabulous last night, so I'm happy that I did buy it.

Topshop - £4

Then I woke up this morning from a horrible nightmare.  I was still a bit shaken from it, when I learned about the death of Whitney Houston.  What I'm about to say is very obvious, but I was a child in the 80's, and I remember her rocking MTV.  I will always remember her as the songbird diva.  We all have our demons, and that doesn't make us who we are.  I believe that what we accomplish in life is what makes us who we are, so I will always have respect for this amazing singer, and wish her a safe passage to the light, and condolences to her family.

What I remember most of Whitney Houston (other than the obvious chart topping "I will always love you") was this female power anthem.  "It's not right, but it's ok, I'm gonna make it anyways" rings true to every woman out there who has ever been cheated on.  Thanks Whitney for this liberating song, RIP.

Yayoi Kusama for Louis Vuitton

Anyone who knows me knows that Art is a huge part of my life.  It's always a thrill for me to see fashion houses teaming up with artists to give us a little piece of art to carry around.

First it was Richard Prince, then Stephen Sprouse, and now Yayoi Kusama.

I am beyond myself to have learned today that Louis Vuitton will be collaborating with Japanese Contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama.

This was just announced, so there isn't any sneak peeks of the accessories from this collection, but believe me...when it comes out, it will be featured here on Tokki & Oliver.

My heart is racing.
She is fabulous! and so is her artwork.  Expect a lots of dots ladies!

You better believe, I will be making it down to the Tate Modern Museum to see her exhibition, and then head straight to Louis Vuitton Maison on Bond Street.

My shoe fund just turned into a LV x Yayoi Kusama fund. At least I have 6 months to save up.

My HG Polish: ROCOCO Nail Apparel - Gold Leaf Lacquer

When things get rough, I always force myself to sit there and write down the blessings in my life.  One of the blessings in my life are my internet/forum friends that share my passion and also have a huge heart.  I could not even run this blog, if it wasn't for the generosity and kindness bestowed upon me by my forum friends.  There is something about a community of complete strangers that meet together to talk about something so miniscual as nail polish and beauty products.  It is quite special.  I hold these distant friendships pretty close to me, because I don't really have anyone in my real life who share this level of passion for it.

My day is always brightened up by a gift from any of my friends, but this gift made my yeart.  It's extravagant, and absolutely stunning! What could it be, but a nail polish made out of 24k gold flakie leaves HAHA!  DH is not pleased with the price (even though he didn't buy it lol), because he finds it ridiculous that a nail polish cost this much.  I reminded him it was not a nail polish per say, but it was an accent top coat for "special occassions". That's all I could come up with, I know it was horrible, but I was still in shock from receiving this.

I actually was going to buy this for myself for Christmas and have been putting aside my loose change to fund it, so Christmas came very early for me this year :) :) :)

Ok I'll stop talking now and show you this beauty.

I am afraid to use it haha.
But I know when I'm going to wear it and what with!
I just love it, love love love love!

And come to think of it, my HG bag was also gold!

Louis Vuitton Limelight in Gold

As this bag is much more yellow/24k gold in real life,
I can't wait to carry this bag with my nails to match!

A little backstory about this bag.  It was something that I wanted since I saw the promo pictures of the LV runway show, I believe this was 2007 or 2008. It was right before after I got married, and I remember wanting this bag so badly that my DH saved and splurged on this bag and postponed getting himself studio equipment (that he needed).  It was quite self-less of him, and it really means the world to me.  Him, he means the world to me, not the bag hehe, although the bag does mean a lot to me as well in the material sense. :)

I feel so complete right now, it's a rare feeling for a shopoholic like myself xx
