Care Packages Rock! Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Brown Eyes

Yesterday I woke up to this HUGE box from my sister from another mother :) I won't bore you all by showing you each item, but take a look at what I saw when I opened it up.

So out of the all the goodies, I wanted to review an eyeshadow palette, because I know we've all seen these around (for those in the states) and always curious about whether or not these brands are any good or if we're just wasting our money buying these palettes at a higher price point.

So...

Today's review will be on the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips - 

Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow and Liner  in Brown Eyes

This palette is 9 different colours that are all suppose to suite all brown eyed girls.

I wonder if Physicians formula has taken into factor different skin tones when making this?

Hmm... My advice is, if you are a cool toned light-medium tone gal with brown eyes, then this palette will be worth your money.  If you are a bit darker/warm toned, I don't think all the colours will be flattering, but perhaps maybe 3 or 4.

So here are my thoughts about this product

After Physicians formula came out with the Happy Booster's Blush, I was really hoping for good things with this company as far as packaging.  I believe that most women are drawn to an item by it's packaging, and this packaging just screams..."don't buy me, I'm a boring palette"

The other issue I have with the packaging is the waste of materials.  That extra ugly flab really isn't helping and it's just a waste of space really.  

This brush is useless.  It is flat and pointy and will not help you in the application of the shadows, and I just don't like spongey brushes to begin with.  I think it's a cheap cop out for companies to include brushes, without actually including a brush.  I hate these.

In this picture, you can tell that the palette is actually NOT boring, and in fact it is quite the opposite. You get an awesome range of nudes, beiges, browns, and purples to highlight, contour, accent and line your eyes with.

As you can see, you get an array of colour.  

Physicians Formula has yet to let me down when it comes to their actual colours.

Their bronzers have amazing shimmers, their happy booster blushes were very pigmented and smooth, and this palette falls right in line with the quality of this company.

I highly recommend this palette for an everyday palette that you can keep in your bag and use for quick touch ups during the day.  You don't have to worry about losing it, or breaking it, because the price is decent and you won't cry too much if something happens to it in transit.

I truly stand by Physicians Formula as the best U.S. drugstore brand. 

In my eyes, the fact that their colours are always highly pigmented with very little fall out, smooth texture, shimmery pigments, and their stand against testing on animals, always makes them a winner against the giant makeup houses like L'oreal, Revlon, Maybelline, etc. etc.

Ok so backing it up.
I literally dragged myself out of my bed today and told myself that even though my body was so sore that I would get some fresh air.

My idea of fresh air was walking to the local CVS and grabbing another Happy Booster by Physicians formula. This week only CVS is giving a $7 extra care buck with a purchase of $10 or more in Physicians Formula products. That is quite easy to achieve, because each item cost $11.99 to $13.99.

I recently purchased the Blush in Rose and I loved it so much I went back and got the Powder in Light Bronzer and in Translucent. And I basically got them each for a few bucks.

That's my idea of a "happy booster".

I recommend these for everyone. They smell great, texture is amazingly silky, and it's so affordable without giving up on quality.

I am also happy that in my instyle they said Aveda stores are giving away a 3 sample pack of their Smooth infusion products, so I'll be picking up tomorrow on my way to Inglot's makeover.

So sore or not, I got a good deal. I would have never thought I'd be shopping at CVS as much as I have been, but some of the products aren't half as bad as I thought.

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Rose

I'm always sooooo late in the game. I know tons of other blogs have already featured this item, but my mind has been occupied, so I just got this yesterday. My CVS sucks. They are lazy, never restock, and they hate me hahahahaha. No joke, they hate me, because one day I complained about one of the workers clipping her finger nails right on the carpet and then returning the clippers she used into the basket so an innocent customer can purchase used clippers. EWWWWWW.....
So of course I complained, so every since then, they give me dirty looks there.

But those dirty looks ain't stopping me from getting my happy booster blush!!!

Well actually my DH got this for me LOL I was at home busy and he was running to CVS, so I called him to go to the cosmetic section to find this. He was not happy, but my DH is a trooper and smart lol so he found the item and bought it.

Now this blush retails for $11.99 and at ulta $12.99. We got a $4 extra care buck from CVS, so I decided to use it.

First off, like most of the other blogs I read, they comment on the smell. It smells great. It's light, airy, fresh, and slightly sweet. It isn't overpowering, but I love the scent. I think I like the scent more than anything else :)

But it is a very light pinkish shade with a slight shimmer. You can definitely build up the color, but I'll be using it as a light color on my apples.

I am actually fond of Physician Formula. It's one of those rare drugstore brands that I would purchase, but they are so expensive. For a few dollars more, I can get a higher end brand, so I always opted to buy that, but with coupons, I will definitely be buying more PF. Their powders are very soft and have a wonderful healthy glow.
