This is one of those colours that I was nervous about buying, because I usually hate the finished texture of foiled nail polishes, but I decided to take a risk and buy it anyways. I'm glad I did.
This polish is a complicated nail polish in terms of colour and texture. The colour is a combination of silver, platinum, beige/pink undertones. It compliments my fair skin quite well. Also, the finished texture feels smooth, but appears gritty. I love that!
I'm happy with this for now. It's a very feminine and delicate colour, which I usually cringe towards, but I'm still interested in this particular colour. I think this will be my I just hope that my brush doesn't come loose like it has with several other of my bottles.
rrp: £5
I highly recommend waiting for Model's own yearly 50% off sale. I was going to wait myself, but I was picking up some polishes for a friend, and just wanted to grab something for myself :) you know how that goes lol

TUNE OF THE DAY
Xscape - Tonight
I'm so sorry that I have been neglecting you all and this blog. Both my jobs are kicking my a$$ and frankly I am just exhausted. So here's a quick update and also a NOTD. Yes, I will admit that my NOTD is a bit chaotic with no direction.....ha! just like my life :p
Let's see, shall we...work is kicking my butt like I said, Oscar is great, hubs is the usual happy guy, and I'm just a grouchy moody tired girl lol.
I don't get a day off for quite sometime, but I promise I will be blogging the very minute that I am off. So until then, here's my crazy NOTD lol
Base: China Glaze below deck
Models own pen
What a horrible attempt at leopard spot LOLOLOLOL!!
Last night, I met up with a forum friend for dinner and movies. It's so nice to see a friendship blossom from seeing them on a public forum, to an email, to a day out shopping, and then to a friendship. We saw "The Woman in Black". If you are a Hammer horror fan, you may be pleased at the modern Hammer film. There was a good 15 seconds, where I froze in fear. It was great! :) So last night, this is what I rocked. Sorry I don't have an OOTD, but here are my accessories.
I was still rocking my sponge nails, these are the polishes that I used: Models Own Aciid and Gosh Lavender Love.
Models Own £5 - Gosh £4.99
I took another photo of this manicure, as my other post had an Instagram version. Then, I pulled out a small bag, which is quite rare for me. I'm always using big bags, but for some reason, I wanted to pull this bag out. This is the original Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse graffiti pochette, circa 2001. This bag has a lovely story behind it, and I will always remember the kind lady that gave this bag to me, and I will never forget her :).
I also wore a new pair of earrings that I picked up at Topshop. It was a total impulse buy, but it looked fabulous last night, so I'm happy that I did buy it.
Topshop - £4
Then I woke up this morning from a horrible nightmare. I was still a bit shaken from it, when I learned about the death of Whitney Houston. What I'm about to say is very obvious, but I was a child in the 80's, and I remember her rocking MTV. I will always remember her as the songbird diva. We all have our demons, and that doesn't make us who we are. I believe that what we accomplish in life is what makes us who we are, so I will always have respect for this amazing singer, and wish her a safe passage to the light, and condolences to her family.
What I remember most of Whitney Houston (other than the obvious chart topping "I will always love you") was this female power anthem. "It's not right, but it's ok, I'm gonna make it anyways" rings true to every woman out there who has ever been cheated on. Thanks Whitney for this liberating song, RIP.
I wish I could take credit for my awesome NOTD, but I can't. I got an email yesterday morning from Illamasqua displaying their new series of Nail art, and I absolutely loved the sponge nails, so I gave it a go. It's fool proof and so easy to do.
The negative degree weather is really taking a toll on my cuticles. I'm dumping loads of oil on it, and yet it doesn't look any better. Roll on Spring!
So if you want to take a stab at sponging, check out their video below.
In this video, they used Illamasqua MILF & Jo'Mina. I love both of these polishes, but do not have them in my stash, so I ended up using Models Own Aciid and Gosh Lavender Love.
I'll be very honest with you all, this was not intentional. I actually had a design in mind, then I f *cked up and basically got annoyed and started making slashes on my nails LOL! Then this design appeared, and I actually liked it. Total fluke really, but when I showed my friend she told me it looked like a modern tribal, so thanks Lulu, you described this very accurately :)
So I hope you enjoy even though I took it late last night with instagram (I told you I'm loving instagram)

Well plans are meant to be changed right? Looks like I'm not making my trek to London after all, but saw something pretty cool on my Facebook wall.
Buy 2 Diet cokes at Boots and you get a free Models Own lipgloss (worth £6). I love when Boots does this, and since I haven't tried a Models Own lipgloss before, I will definitely take advantage of this offer.
I hate bugs, and I hated that movie Beetlejuice, BUT I love this new Models own collection!
The following information was taken directly from their facebook page...
"NEW from Models Own and launching this November - The BEETLEJUICE Collection! Consists of FIVE new multi-tonal shades - GOLDEN GREEN, a fresh energetic acid; PINKY BROWN, a warm rusty pink; PURPLE BLUE, a vibrant punch of fuchsia indigo; AQUA VIOLET, a true sky shimmer; and EMERALD BLACK, a bold-blackened midnight peacock! Each bottle contains four pearlescent colours mixed into one gleaming shade, and the complex colour-shifting, with flashes of vivid tones and ethereal hues, gives a shimmering duo chrome finish. Priced at just £5 each and available early November exclusively at our website. "

I am in love with them all!!! Seriously, duo-chrome mania is about to spill into the UK once Models Own launches this! I am so happy to have moved to a country that loves nail effects and art. Sure the UK got the crackle mania a little bit later, but there is just an abundance of flashy, fancy, hot nail art in this country. We have Sophy Robson, Wah Nails, Nails Inc (with their new magnetic polishes), Models Own with this new range, and the countless other brands that embraced the shatter/crackle effect. Oh!! and of course the Makeup Store's amazing holographic polishes. I swear, I'm surrounded...how can I not do more nail art! This of course isn't a diss to non-brits, I'm just saying that I find women more daring on this side of the ocean. Just my observation, that's all :)
Ok first I have to comment on the name. What's up with the 3 iii's? Maybe I'll ask Models Own and see why they did that. It doesn't bother me, it's just interesting. What's more interesting is the nail polish. This is new colour. It's slightly neon that is in between a neon yellow and a chartreuse. This can lean either neon yellow or green/chartreuse depending on the lighting. I love it a lot. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but there is something vibrant and "odd" about it.
I don't own Illamasqua's Radium or OPI Who the Shrek Are You?
This was one of my purchases during the Models Own 50% off sale. I would have never picked this, but I saw a post of it on Mouldyfruit's blog (I love that girl's blog so much!) and I thought it was a wonderful greyed out lilac polish. I like it, because it's not your typical "girly" lilac due to it's muted grey tone to it. It is also as "white" as a polish I will go.
I know that NARS Ecume was very popular, but I still can not pull white polish, due to it looking like white out.
What do you guys think of this?
And I felt it's been a long time since I spammed you with Oscar's pictures :p
Lately, I've been unable to do a a full manicure of just one colour. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I finally got my Models own nail art pen, so I decided to give it a try today. Why not right? It's rainy and gloomy, so I'm home playing with my nail polish (big shocker! lol).
The base polish is Leighton Denny's Golden Girl. It works perfect for this nail art, but on it's own looks horrible on me. It's a gorgeous colour and formula, but just way too orange gold for my cool toned skin.
As you know, my love for nail art has grown, as with my love for Wah Nails, and I am embarking on this experiment to do Wah Nail designs based on their nail chart that they have online, so here is my version of the leopard and tiger print. You can obviously mix colours, but I love the combination of gold and black, and I also love the accent nails instead of doing the entire hand just one print.
oopsy got to clean up the edges!
Don't forget that there is only 2 days left until I randomly select a winner of my 50 follower giveaway. If you want to enter, please visit
Are you all sick of me talking about Models own yet? I promise I'll talk about something else soon :p xx But first I must show you my goodies. I did allow myself to break the ban for this sale, since the next sale will be next year probably and I just can't wait that long!
Lemon Meringue
Jade Stone
Juicy Jules
Aciid
Utopia
Utopia, Lemon Meringue, Jade Stone, Aciid, Juicy Jules (on black base)
My favourite is a toss up between Jade Stone and Aciid.
DH hates Aciid, but I responded by telling him "then you don't have to wear it".
Service was fast, especially with the volume of sales they got.
I also want to pre warn everyone that not all bottles come in the plastic wrap. I got some that did not have it, and Models Own reassured me that they were all new.
Just odd to me I suppose, but as long as they are new, that's all that matters.
My nail art pen was missing too, but they will be resending that to me as well :)
Either way, what a sale! My haul is tiny compared to others, but I love each and every one of them.
Sorry ladies, I am so bad at titling my blog posts haha. This my NOTD today. I used Models Own Top Torquoise, Models Own Pure Purple, and Zoya Dove as the base. I hope you enjoy.
The bubbles are sporadic and are not positioned anymore in particular. This helps with the randomness that we see in bubbles, so I wanted to apply that same method on my nails as well. You can obviously use any colours that you choose, it's really fun and I like it. I am going to try a metallic version next time with lots of silver, gold, and a bronze (gotta get a hold of a bronze polish).
What do you think??? Do you prefer this or something more calculated like a polka dot pattern?
I'm currently hosting a giveaway, so please check it out. You can find the details on the tabs above or to the right side of my blog :)
If you are on facebook, you definitely need to get in on this action tonight (or at least before noon tomorrow). They are giving away their entire range of nail polish and entire range of Pro nails. I'm not kidding, I wouldn't do that to you guys.
Once you are there, like the post and write "Models Own" in the comment section to enter.
Good luck everyone!!
It really is mania over there, and it's slightly contagious!
Also, since this is their 48,000 giveaway, that means 50,000 likes and 50% sale is just around the corner. Grab your wallets and your lists and happy shopping!
It's coming close ladies!! They are almost at 50,000 likes. Do you know what I'm talking about? Well if not, check out their facebook page HERE, and like their page. Are you waiting to take advantage of the sale? What's your most sought-after shade?
Once Models own reaches 50,000 "likes" on their facebook fan page, they will be doing their 50% off orders of £20 or more. I don't know about you, but I've been waiting for this!
If you want in on the action, click HERE for the Model's Own facebook page and like their page. I would also go ahead and sign up for their newsletter, because they need to have your email in the system to send out the code.
I can't wait to stock up on some bright colours to use towards my wah nails experiment. Especially Aciiid. I'm also definitely going to pick up Jade Stone.
You won't even believe what I did today. While I tried to do some home improvements, and put up some hooks on the door, I got super glue all over my left hand. The same hand that I use to take NOTD photos with. The same hand that I've been having issues with dry patches of skin too. So yeah...um...super glue all over my hands, wrists, and thumb. Not a good look lol. I spent all day trying to get it off of me, but instead it just made my hands super sore, and just white and patchy. But with some acetone, and warm water and soap, after a few hours I finally got it off of me. What a pain in the a$$!
Well, I did manage to get my first try of the Wah nails. I am starting easy. I have no tools or anything. I only have nail polish, so I wanted to start with something that didn't need any tooks. The glitter gradient nails are gorgeous. I'm absolutely loving this. I will however do some updated versions later, but for now...here is my first attempt at gradient nails.
Nail polishes used in the order I used them.
Essie's Fill the Gap
I used this as the basecoat
Once it dried, then I applied two layers of
Models Own - Grey Day
One that dried, I painted a rough french manicure with
Leighton Denny's Diamond Diva
After that has dried, I applied
Paul & Joe #34 (medium size glitter polish)
I applied this only to the middle of the nail.
This will help blend the rough lines of the french manicure
Then I applied over the full nail
Revlon's Belle
You want to use a polish that has big and small glitters to finish off the gradient look.
And finally finished off with
Seche Top Coat
I think next time I'm going to use a muted pale blue, or black to make the silver nail polish stick out. I also regret not using Deborah Lippmann's Today is a Fairytale to finish off the look. Nothing says Diamonds than a nail polish that has diamond dust in it :)
I am in Models Own heaven today :) I have for show-n-tell Pure Purple nail polish. At initial glance I thought perfect name, but after swatching it, I said to myself that this is more like a moody grape haha. It is a rich and vibrant grape purple. Yes it's cream, and just like top turquoise it did not streak and was opaque in 1 coat.
I like it... A LOT. I don't know why I was so against purple before, but another nail fanatic friend of mine has shown me the way. Purple is the way to go :)
Look at this deep and rich goodness...
My husband teases me and says that I moved to England just for the British nail polish brands...although that is not completely true, it makes my move so much MORE FUN!
What's your favourite nail polish colour(s) right now?
