Bourjois Freebies with Coke Rewards

My husband loves Coke.  When I say loves Coke, I mean it.  Of course I'm always b*tching at him to stop drinking so much soda, but he doesn't listen lol.  So I figure if he won't listen to me then at least I need to benefit from all his coke drinking.

Certain bottles contain codes that you enter onto their website over at www.cokezone.co.uk.

You get points and then can exchange those points for prizes.  Coke UK really needs to up their prizes especially in their "fashion" section, which include makeup.  

The Bourjois lipstick that I wanted (100 points) was out of stock, and has been for months now, so I went ahead and grabbed these two eyeshadow pigments.

 

They have them in Silver and Voile.

They also had these travel size lipglosses as well

So they aren't the best freebies, but at least they are "free".  So if you haven't joined coke rewards, then it's worth it.  I'm just hoping they give better prizes.  I know a few months ago they had Bourjois nail varnishes.  I hope that returns!

Deborah Lippmann's The Stripper to Go Nail Lacquer Finger Mitts

What in the world is a finger mitt, right?

I ran out of acetone so I went rummaging through my drawers and found a sample of this.  I was expecting just some square piece of cotton soaked in acetone, but instead I got a mini finger mitt. 

I have mixed feelings about this product and here's why...

PROS:

* The mitts are sturdy and they will not rip on you.  You could add acetone and try to reuse these if you want.  I almost didn't want to throw it away afterwards, but then again I refuse to be that cheap :)  

* The mitt is soaked in acetone, so they aren't "cheaping" out with that

* These also will not leave behind cotton pieces like cotton balls do

CONS:

* Pretty expensive at £8 for a box of 6 mitts

* They are just odd, and I just don't know if they are really worth that kind of money.

This product claims that one mitt will clean all 10 nails, but  I was only able to get one hand done with one mitt.  In all fairness it was glitter polish.  If you have one glitter polish, you will probably need 2 mitts, otherwise one will take care of the removal. 

 

If each packet came with 10 mitts, so that I could cover all my fingers at one time, then I would be more inclined to say that £8 for a box of 6 packets is fair.

So for that reason, I'll probably not purchase this, but if you have the money to spend then these are much better than most of the nail polish remover packets that I've used before.

My Liberty of London Christmas Picks

Liberty of London is absolutely amazing.  They are the only brand/store in the world that could make cross stitching products look high end and desirable lol.  There is something feminine, dainty (I mean this in a good way too), light hearted, whimsical, and extremely quirky behind the products from Liberty. 

Liberty of London is a fun fusion of Victorian and 60's designs in my eyes. I can also see how influential the image of Liberty of London is to designers as well.  I can see a lot of the 60's influence that Marc Jacobs mimics, and similar themes in jewellery that are prevalent on high street shops like Topshop and Asos.

Granted that my personal style doesn't really call for paisley patterns, floral, or even that shabby chic look, but it doesn't mean that I don't see the exceptionally well thought out and creatively arranged products over at Liberty of London.  Shabby Chic isn't for everyone, but there is such a magic about Liberty of London and a delicate nature of style, art and fashion that fuse this luxury powerhouse.  It takes a lot to be able to compete with Harrods and Selfridges, and Liberty just does it so well.

So on that note, I was on their website this morning (being woken up yet again by my extremely noisy neighbors and not being able to sleep as DH just arrived home at 9am after pulling an all nighter at his gig) and found several things that I found that I love, and would make excellent gifts to someone very lucky for this upcoming Christmas season.

Ok so I have a really funny story.  I felt so silly - I mean really silly

I have been in England for how long now? and I had no idea that Christmas crackers contained gifts in them.  Just by the shape, I literally thought they were crackers inside like biscuits LOL! So apparently no crackers. They are called crackers, because they make a snap crackle noise when you pull them to expose the gifts HAHA!!!!

Well plans are meant to be changed right? Looks like I'm not making my trek to London after all, but saw something pretty cool on my Facebook wall.

Busy Day

I just literally woke up an hour ago.  So much for trying to get on a healthy and slightly more normal schedule.  The sun is definitely up and it really is just lovely haha.  I decided to give myself a quick manicure and pedicure outside, but I didn't factor in the temperature and it was difficult to give myself a proper one.  My NOTD and pedicure is not blog worthy, which probably works out best because I'm going to be offline for most of the day.  It's so odd to be offline.  I feel like I'm connected to the world wide web through my veins.  I know that's not good either, but so is a lot of things that I do :p

So last night as I was talking to a friend, I just splurged on bought the Chanel tweed pink blush that I've been wanting forever.  It normally retails for £31, but I got it off of ebay for £23 posted.  So I thought it wasn't a bad deal, especially if it's cheaper than US prices.  So that is 1 of 2 Christmas gifts to myself taken care of.  Next up, the Chanel loose powder in Feerie from this winter's collection.

So other than my daily struggle to save money and not give into my temptations, nothing else is new, except I have to get ready now to go down to London with DH for a gig tomorrow.  I'm going to be getting ready for that, running errands and trying to confirm plans for tomorrow.  I'm also getting my hair cut tomorrow at the Toni & Guy academy in central London.  I'm not really nervous, because I figure the teachers are there guiding the students.  So let's hope I get a student with some talent :p

Oscar keeps looking at me, because he can sense I am going somewhere.  I dread the day that I leave for my cruise and I won't see him for 8 days.  I feel like a bad mommy, but at least he'll be at home with my in laws and his daddy.  So I guess I'm not that bad.
